Time Flies

Have you ever felt like you have all the time in the world and then suddenly, it’s gone? I feel like that happened in 2024. All of a sudden, the holidays are here, and I am not sure where the year went. Was there something you wanted to accomplish this year but didn’t get a chance to? Make a plan to get that done. I find a lot of times that it is hard to get started but once I am there it is easier than I thought it would be.

What are some tasks you would like to get accomplished? Many of our practices are

looking to get a practice playbook completed to make tasks flow easier on a daily basis.

This can seem like an enormous task to undertake but it is much easier if you can break

it down piece by piece and divvy out each of the protocols to the team members that are

currently carrying out those tasks. Let’s break the process down to eat that elephant

one bite at a time.

1. The first thing you will need to do is decide the protocols that need to be in the

playbook. It would be great if you could have each team member make a list of

tasks they perform on a daily, weekly, monthly and even sometimes yearly basis.

2. Does there need to be checklists for these tasks or a protocol written out to

ensure they are completed correctly? Or maybe both? Take each of the lists your

team members bring to you and decide what is needed.

3. You are then off and running and the team can start creating those checklists and

protocols. Remember to be specific. What seems common knowledge to you

may not be to the next person completing that task. Screenshots are helpful in

many occasions to help with the process.

4. Remember, this is a marathon and not a sprint. It is going to take some time to

create your playbook, but how exciting will it be to have something to refer to and

use to train new team members as they come into your practice.

5. If this task is too overwhelming or you all are too busy, don’t forget that Global

Team Solutions can always help with this process. This is what we do on a daily

basis. We also have a template for a playbook if you would like to do it yourself

but need a starting point. Just let us know how we can help.

Maybe the playbook wasn’t on your list of things to do this year. What is it that made the

list? Did you accomplish it? Whatever it is that you are waiting to do…do it now! If you

need help, (even if it is not from Global Team Solutions), reach out to the person or

company you need and get the project started.
